Overwatch 2's co-developer, Redhill Games, is laying off employees due to a restructuring program. The studio announced this on LinkedIn, but the number of affected employees remains undisclosed. Founded in 2018, Redhill employs approximately 70 people across Finland and Cyprus. They've collaborated with renowned studios like Supercell and Blizzard, as well as developing their own free-to-play shooter, Nine to Five. The post on LinkedIn states, 'We share difficult news: Redhill Games will undergo a restructuring process, marking the end of this chapter. We'll continue delivering our remaining work and ensuring a smooth transition for the teams supporting Supercell titles.' The company also expressed commitment to supporting affected colleagues and encouraged industry partners to reach out for exceptional talent. Redhill recently partnered with Amber, a game development agency, to create innovative, high-quality experiences across various platforms. Game Developer has contacted Redhill for further comments. This news comes amidst a broader industry landscape, with Krafton CEO accused of forming a secret task force, 'Project X', to seize control of Unknown Worlds.
